Canada Skilled Worker Immigration

Canada is a land of opportunity for those looking to explore possibilities in a foreign country. It has opened its doors for Skilled Professionals / Workers beginning 1st January 2015 by launching the Express Entry System for managing the applications for Work Visa and Canada Permanent Residency.

The procedure is simple and applications are processed at a faster pace. The good news is that most of the occupations are covered under the Canada skilled worker visa or immigration program and it is also open for all working professionals. The professions which are listed under the NOC(National Occupation Classification) O, A & B can also apply under this new system. CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) has announced that there would be no capping on the number of applications which have to be accepted.

A process which is based on selection where applicants will be chosen on the basis of merit and various factors like English Language Ability (IELTS), Age, Education, Experience etc. Once the applicant is selected, the applicant will be issued an invitation to apply for filing the case for Permanent Residency. CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) will process the visa in a maximum time of 6 months.

The applicant will be selected from a pool of applicants on the basis of merit upon profile creation. Applicants who have approved job offer from a Canadian Employer or a nomination from any of the Provinces under Provincial Nomination Programs will be issued the Invitation to apply immediately. The Federal Government can also select the potential candidates based on the skill set of the applicant.

The step wise process under the new program is as follows:

Step 1: Education Credentials Assessment Report (ECA) by which your foreign education will be evaluated.

Step 2: An Express Entry profile would be created online by which the skills and qualifications of the applicant in an online resume will be identified.

Step 3: For increasing the chances of getting selected by obtaining a job offer, register yourself in the Canada Job Bank Site.

Step 4: Once the selection is done, the applicant would be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) on the basis of which the case needs to be filed for Permanent Residency with CIC within an issuance of 60 days.
